Bainbridge City Council to meet Tuesday

The Bainbridge City Council will meet Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall, 101 S. Broad Street, with the following agenda:

  • Public Hearing and final consideration of proposed ordinance that would prohibit motorists from “cutting through” private property to avoid a traffic signal or stop sign
  • Consideration of street closure request from Downtown Development Authority-streets around Willis Park on Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for Yuletide Jubilee downtown event
  • City Manager’s quarterly financial report

Bills: $22,717.80 from Hall Cabinet Works of Bainbridge for Bainbridge Command Center Mobile Unit to be used by Public Safety; $6,366 from York and Associates of Bainbridge for engineering work related to a planned sea wall behind the Chamber of Commerce building.

Bids: $24,413.40 from Lewis Steel Works of Wrens, Ga., for 4-yard and 8-yard front loaders; $14,451 from Schafer of Charlotte, N.C., for refuse containers, $3,122 from Pelahatchie, Miss., for testing and calibration of gas meters and other equipment; $9,068 from CMI Inc. of Owensboro, Ky., for intoxilyzer system; $6,817.75 from Thompson Pump of Panama City, Fla., for rebuilding 4-inch vacuum open trash pump; $6,468 from NAPA Auto Parts of Bainbridge for diagnostics system; $3,407.50 from Yancey Brothers of Albany, Ga., for roof for chipper.

The City Council also received multiple-part bids for oil, grease, hydraulic and transmission fluids; $3,415.02 from Total Petroleum, $24,196.52 from Sharber Oil of Bainbridge and $12,279.39 from Crawford and Sons Oil Company of Albany, Ga.
