Program technician – U.S. Department of Agriculture – Decatur County FSA office
The Decatur County FSA Office is seeking an individual for a permanent Program Technician position. The individual needs to be highly motivated with good communication and computer skills. This position is for office assistance to help administer federal farm programs to producers in Decatur County. Interested persons must apply online at www.usajobs.gov . The salary will depend on the experience of the person selected, but no less than $13.68 per hour.

Bainbridge Public Safety officer
A Public Safety Officer position is currently available in the Public Safety Division. This position is responsible for protecting lives and property endangered by fires and other emergency situations. This is a permanent, full-time position. Pay class is determined by certification. Uncertified is Class 12 with beginning pay of $12.94 per hour. Certified begins at $13.60 per hour.
Some of the major duties include but are not limited to: Patrols an assigned zone, responds to fires, suppresses fires utilizing such firefighting equipment and techniques as nozzle direction and building ventilation; participates in salvage and overhaul operations, responds to EMS calls, rescue situations, traffic accidents, and hazardous materials incidents.
Knowledge required for the position: Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local statutes and department policies and procedures; knowledge of firefighting techniques, apparatus, and equipment, knowledge of geography, streets, buildings, and fire hydrant locations of the city; knowledge of the radio codes used in public safety work; knowledge of first responder and CPR principles and applications.
Minimum qualifications: No experience requirements. High school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, and ability to meet the current requirements set forth by the Georgia Mandate Law Enforcement Training Act/Peace Officer’s Standards and Training Act.
