3 people killed in Southwest Georgia crashes over Memorial Day weekend

The Georgia State Patrol post in Thomasville reported 52-year-old Terry Merritt was driving on Hadley Ferry Road in Grady County on Saturday night when his car lost control, ran off the road, and overturned.

Merritt died in the crash.

The GSP Post based in Albany, Ga., reported two traffic deaths over the holiday weekend patrol period, which ended at midnight on Monday.

Around Georgia, 15 people died in vehicle crashes during the holiday period.
