Recent Decatur County Sheriff’s Office Incident Reports

The following is a sampling of recent incidents reported by the Decatur County (GA) Sheriff’s Office. We do not list domestic incidents, out of respect for the victim’s safety, and we also redact citizens’ names and specific addresses, out of respect for their privacy.

  • On May 16, 2015, at approximately 0746 hours, Decatur County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Eddie Avery Road, in reference to an abandoned vehicle.
  • On 05/16/2015 at 0833 hours, Deputy Peak was dispatched to 400 block of East Broad St. in Climax in reference to stolen property.
  • On 05/16/2015 at approximately 1405 hours, Deputy Peak was dispatched to the area of Quick Buys (Climax) and E. Broad St, in reference to a reported theft of a tractor.
  • On May 15, 2015, at approximately 0912 hours, Captain Lambert responded to 3900 block of Vada Road, in reference to a fight.
  • On May, 15, 2015, at 1906 hours, Deputy Sam Hughes responded to 1500 East Shotwell Street, in reference to a dog bite that occurred on 700 block of East Griffin Avenue, Attapulgus, Georgia.
  • On May 13, 2015, Deputy Vincent Edmond arrested Daniel Hicks on two outstanding warrants; one for Failure to Appear o/c Shoplifting and one for Simple Battery from the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office.
  •  On Tuesday, May 12, 2015, Deputy Richard Hughes responded to Cardinal Drive, in reference to an assault.
  • On Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at approximately 1925 hours, Capt. Trolinger made contact with citizen at BPS Headquarters, in reference to locating drug contraband.
  • On 05/11/2015, at 1321 hours, Deputy Peak was dispatched to 3000 block of East River Rd, in reference to Stolen Property.
  • On 05/11/2015, at 1900 hours, Deputy Richard Hughes responded to 200 block of Country Club Road, in reference to Stolen Property.
  • On May 8, 2015 at 1240 hours Deputy Justin Kelly responded to the area of Colquitt Hwy. at Griffin Newsome Rd. in reference to a recovery of a stolen vehicle.
  •   On May 8, 2015, at 1929 hours, Deputy Reynolds was notified of an animal bite from Patients First in Tallahassee, FL, that happened in Decatur County.
  • On Saturday, May 9, 2015, Deputy Vincent Edmond responded to 7700 block of Tallahassee Highway, in reference to a vehicle fire.
  •   On Sunday, May 10, 2015 at 1453 hours, I, Sgt. Tim Williamson was dispatched to Floyd Rd. in reference to an assault.
  • On 05/06/2015 at approximately 1556 hours, Deputy Peak was dispatched to Butler Ferry Rd. in reference to a juvenile problem. On 05/07/2015 at 0730 hours, Deputy Peak notified Officer Anthony Stubbs at Bainbridge Middle School about this incident.
  • On May 7, 2015, at 1857 hours, Deputy Sam Hughes responded with DFACS case worker Danisha Bell to Hales Landing Road, in reference to a drug complaint and possible child abuse complaint that Bell received.
  • On Wednesday, May 06, 2015, Deputy Vincent Edmond and Sgt. Jason Williams responded to the intersection of Donalson Road and Highway 27 North, in reference to a reported assault on a juvenile.
  • On Sunday, May 3, 2015, Deputy Richard Hughes and Capt. Patrick Trolinger responded to Clarke Drive, in reference to an assault with a pipe.
  • On Wednesday April 22, 2015, at approximately 1215 hours Lieutenant Brian Donalson contacted Palm Beach County USMS Task Force Sergeant Tim McCann, in reference to a Vehicular Homicide warrant on John Wesley Goodman. On Monday May 4, 2015, at 0800 hours Lt. Donalson was notified that John Wesley Goodman had been brought into the Decatur County Jail facility on Sunday May 3, 2015.
  • On Monday, May 04, 2015, Deputy Long responded to Sharber Road, regarding someone dumping trash on the side of the road.
  •   On Friday, May 01, 2015, at 1012 hours, Deputy Adam Mobley responded to Hand Road, in reference to a Burglary.
  •   On May 1, 2015, at approximately 1303 hours, I, Captain Brad Lambert, responded to Maive Street, in reference to a Harassment and Trespassing complaint involving juveniles.
  • On Saturday, May 2, 2015, at approximately 1910 hours, Captain Patrick Trolinger checked on a distressed vehicle travelling on the shoulder of the road (84 East, East of Nebo Church Rd.) Driver was charged and booked for driving under the influence of alcohol.
  • On 05/03/2015 at 0632 hours, Deputy Peak was dispatched to 2011 E. Shotwell St. (Kangaroo Express) in reference to an assault that occurred in Decatur County.
  • On May 1, 2015, at 1904 hours, Deputy Sam Hughes responded to the six hundred block of Faceville-Attapulgus Road, in reference to two horses in the roadway.
