Remission definition – the cancellation of a debt, charge, or penalty. Synonyms – cancellation, setting aside, suspension, revocation, repeal, rescinding, abrogation. The word “remission” is made up of the word mission and the prefix re-. Mission is taken from the Latin word missio, which means “to send.” The prefix re- means “away” or “again.” Thus, to speak of the remission of sins is to say that our transgressions have been sent away.
In this life we will always struggle (as long as we are in this corruptible flesh) until our race is over. We are unable to conquer the flesh but Jesus cancels that debt, charge, penalty. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep on keeping on. Never give up, Never give up, Never ever give up!
