DRUG BUST LEADS TO MULTIPLE FELONY CHARGES:
On Tuesday, January 22, Investigator Chip Nix received information that a vehicle carrying illegal narcotics was headed to Bainbridge from Atlanta. The information led to an investigative stop on the vehicle when he and Chief Investigator Larry Funderburke spotted it traveling on Highway 27. When Nix approached the vehicle, he could smell a strong odor of marijuana. The three occupants were asked to step out of the vehicle, which they did, and they consented to a search of the vehicle. During the search, a “hidden compartment” was found which had been modified to conceal contraband. Inside were several bags wrapped with black tape.
All three suspects were taken into custody:
1) Marco DeAnglo Jackson, age 39, of Bainbridge
2) Bernard ONeal Watson, age 47, of Bainbridge
3) Tiffany Michele Cooper, age 37, of Bainbridge
Suspects were charged with:
1) Vehicle With False or Secret Compartments (Felony)
2) Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Distribute (Felony)
3) Trafficking in Methamphetamines (Felony)
Found hidden inside the vehicle were:
* 7 clear plastic bags containing a green leafy type substance, suspected to be marijuana
* 4 clear plastic bags containing pills, suspected to be MDMA (Ecstasy/Molly)
* Clear plastic bag containing 37 pills, suspected to be MDMA (Ecstasy/Molly)
* Clear plastic bag containing 29 white pills (unknown)
* Clear plastic bag containing 4 pills, suspected to be MDMA (Ecstasy/Molly)
* Clear plastic bag containing a white pill (unknown)
* Clear plastic bag containing a white substance (unknown)
* Clear plastic bag containing one green pill (unknown)
* One pink pill (unknown)
Found in passenger side, rear compartment:
* Green leafy substance, suspected to be marijuana
