FLASH FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING... The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for * Portions of southeast Alabama, Florida, and southwest Georgia, including the following areas, in southeast Alabama, Coffee, Dale, Geneva, Henry, and Houston. In Florida, Calhoun, Central Walton, Coastal Bay, Coastal Franklin, Coastal Gulf, Gadsden, Holmes, Inland Bay, Inland Franklin, Inland Gulf, Jackson, Liberty, North Walton, South Walton, and Washington. In southwest Georgia, Clay, Decatur, Early, Miller, Quitman, and Seminole. * Through Tuesday evening * Periods of heavy rain will continue overnight as Subtropical Storm Alberto makes landfall and moves northward into southeastern Alabama. Additional rainfall of 3 to 6 inches of rain expected across the watch area. Locally higher amounts are possible as well. These rainfall amounts may lead to flash flooding across the area. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
