The National Weather Service has predicted the possibility of a tropical system developing in the Caribbean and making it’s way to southwest Georgia, just in time for Memorial Day weekend. Here’s the latest:
“The NHC has issued a special Tropical Weather Outlook for an area of disturbed weather in the Caribbean that will move into the central or eastern Gulf of Mexico later this week. Although no development is expected for the next few days, there is a 20% of tropical development later in the week. Regardless of whether or not this area of low pressure develops into a tropical system, the tri-state area will be in a very wet pattern for the next week. Expect average rainfall totals of 3-7” to accumulate through Sunday night.”
