The storm that blew through Decatur County early Sunday morning left many residents without power after multiple trees fell on power lines. According to Bainbridge Public Safety’s facebook page, a massive tree fell across the road and knocked down the service lines on Orange and Barber Streets. WALB reported that the storm totaled one car when a tree fell on a Bainbridge resident’s car on Orange Street.
Decatur County Sheriff Wiley Griffin issued several warnings during the storm to residents urging them to stay off the roadways and to avoid downed power lines.
At least one tree fell across the power lines on Country Club Road, knocking out power to those homes in the area.
According to Georgia Power, as of 8:30 a.m. Monday morning, there was just one reported power outage remaining effecting less than 5 services on Ten Mile Still Road in southwest Decatur County.
