The Southwest Georgia Day Lily Society is beginning a series of educational presentations with topics such as Daylily basics, soil preparation, additives, flower grooming, and irrigation. The annual daylily show will be held on May 13th at the First Baptist Church of Bainbridge.
There are over 83,000 different registered types of Day lilies in the American Hemerocallis Society’s database. One of the big draws of day lilies is the ready ability to hybridize! New day lilies are being created all the time.
The Southwest Georgia Daylily Society meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 6 PM at the Decatur County Senior Center, at 402 W. Water St., Bainbridge. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
The website for the national Daylily Society is www.daylilies.org and the Facebook page for the local club is Southwest Georgia Daylily Society.
