The Seminole quarterback threw for 302 yards and four touchdowns in his Florida State debut.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State’s Everett Golson was recognized as the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Back of the Week following his spectacular Seminole debut in the 2015 season opener against Texas State.
Golson completed 19 of 25 passes for 302 yards, while matching his career high with four touchdown passes as Florida State defeated Texas State, 59-16. The Myrtle Beach, S.C., native registered his seventh career game with 300 or more passing yards as he led the Seminoles’ offense to its fifth-highest total yardage output (636) of the Jimbo Fisher era (since 2010).
Golson’s passer rating (230.27) ranked fourth highest in the country during the opening weekend and led the ACC. His yards per attempt (12.1) and touchdown passes (4) also led the ACC and ranked among the leaders nationally.
After the first week of play, Golson ranks in the top 30 nationally in 10 offensive categories including top five rankings in touchdown passes (3rd – 4), points responsible for per game (4th – 24.0), passing efficiency (4th – 230.3) and points responsible for (4th – 24).
