U.S. Congressman Sanford Bishop visited Southwest Georgia Tuesday, August 18 as part of his District Work Session while Congress is in recess for the summer.
Bishop hosted a town hall meeting at the Seminole County Courthouse in Donalsonville, Ga., on Tuesday night. The topic of the town hall meeting was the issue of hydrilla, an invasive water weed, on Lake Seminole.
Earlier in the day, Congressman Bishop stopped by the Flint Media studios in Bainbridge, home base for six Southwest Georgia radio stations. Congressman Bishop sat down for an exclusive interview with Kevin Dowdy, co-host of the Jesus and Jammin’ morning radio show.
Topics discussed during the interview included hydrilla on Lake Seminole, the U.S. Army’s recent reduction in force that affects two Georgia bases, the Congressman’s thoughts on the Iran nuclear agreement, the Planned Parenthood controversy, and the 2016 Presidential Election.
Congressman Bishop also thanked those local citizens who provide his office with feedback on various issues throughout the year, and encouraged anyone who has a problem or concern that can be addressed by his role in Congress to contact his office. Bishop’s official web site is bishop.house.gov
