Gov. Nathan Deal has appointed Pataula Chief Superior Court Judge Joe C. Bishop to the Georgia Commission on Family Violence.
The Georgia Commission on Family Violence is a state agency created by the Georgia General Assembly in 1992 to develop a comprehensive plan for ending family violence in Georgia. GCFV conducts quarterly meetings inAtlanta.
Judge Bishop was appointed to serve on the superior court bench in 1991 in the Pataula Judicial Circuit. He works with youth through the Boy Scouts of America, American Legion and coaching sports. He received a bachelor in fine arts degree from Valdosta State University and received his law degree from the University of Georgia.
