Construction of the new Hampton Inn hotel in Bainbridge, GA is about 80 percent complete, according to a City of Bainbridge official.
Keith Pollock, the code enforcement officer for the City of Bainbridge, said he visited the construction site on Tallahassee Highway about two weeks ago, and said the hotel is getting closer to opening up later this summer.
“They just put the pool in, and they’ve finished putting up sheet rock in most of the rooms,” Pollock said. “The next steps will be to paint the inside of the rooms, starting with the 3rd floor and going down, and then to lay down the carpeting and finally, furnish the rooms.”
Pollock said the hotel has most of its utilities, including power and water, connected.
Based on what he has been told, Pollock said he expects the new Hampton Inn hotel should be ready to open in July or August. The hotel will have 71 rooms.
Design of the hotel was overseen by Ambyro, an architectural firm out of Perry, Ga., that has experience building other Hampton Inns in Georgia towns.
The hotel will be managed by Bran Hospitality Inc. of Perry, Ga. The company owns Hampton Inn franchises in Americus and Vidalia, and Holiday Inn Express franchises in Macon and Americus.
