A 10-run explosion in the fourth inning carried Bainbridge High School Varsity to a 17-1 win in four innings in an away baseball game against Albany High School on Monday.
Bainbridge easily handled Albany pitching as seven hitters combined for 13 hits, nine RBIs and 13 runs scored.
Bainbridge Bearcats Varsity scored in the fourth on an RBI triple by Tyler Storey, an RBI single by Anderson Bailey, an RBI single by Dustin Strickland, a two-run error, an RBI triple by Keith Lyle, an RBI single by Will Kelley, a two-run error, and an RBI single by Caleb Boutwell.
Lyle put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for Bainbridge Bearcats Varsity.
Cayden McQuaig had an impressive outing against Albany’s lineup. Albany managed just two hits off of the Bainbridge pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out six during his four innings of work.
Bainbridge’s Varsity Baseball team will be back in action on Wednesday, March 25 vs. Cairo. We will broadcast the game starting at 6 p.m. on Live 101.9 FM.
The top of the first saw Bainbridge take an early lead, 1-0. The Bearcats’ threat began with a single by Carson Inlow. A stolen base then moved Inlow from first to second.
BHS scored six runs on a two-run double by Grayson Heard, a two-run error, and an RBI single by Dustin Strickland.
