News Release
The Downtown Development Authority of Bainbridge partnered with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, Georgia Municipal Association, and the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Government in the Renaissance Strategic Visioning & Planning pilot program to create a Downtown Master Plan. The purpose for creating a downtown master plan is to create a vision and plan for the revitalization of existing downtown developments and potential new downtown development. The results of the project will provide the Downtown Development Authority with a long-term vision and a short-term work program.
The process featured a three-stage process: 1. Public input & engagement; 2. Visioning & Design; 3. Implementation Work Program. In March, the community was invited to listen to the final presentation of the Downtown Bainbridge Master Plan. Their fellow peers stood before the audience and spoke about their vision for downtown Bainbridge. All of the focus groups have already hit the ground running and making progress on many of the short-term work items. The enthusiasm the master plan process has created among the community is tremendous!
The final master plan document can be reviewed and downloaded at www.downtownbainbridgega.com.
