SEMINOLE SWAMP PEOPLE: Georgia DNR Busts Alligator Hunters

In a scene similar to the popular television show, Georgia DNR Officers recently arrested two men accused of illegally baiting and hunting alligators on Lake Seminole.

According to a facebook post by the Law Enforcement Division of the Georgia DNR, officers were notified of hanging gator traps on the Lake and conducted surveillance until the baiters showed up.  When the two men launched from a nearby residence to check their hooks, game wardens busted them.  In the boat, Officers found a .50 caliber pistol, ziploc bags of bait and a piece of a gator tail from a previous harvest.  The men were charged with hunting alligators out of season, hunting by illegal methods and illegal possession of alligator parts.
