Summer Reading Program

The Summer Reading Program is almost here! Starting May 14, bring your child to the library to sign up and receive a reading log. Any child who completes a reading log and turns it in is invited to the grand prize drawing and to take a photo for the newspaper on July 19. The top 10 readers’ names will be listed in the newspaper.  Learn more at swgrl.org/summer or by calling the library at 229-248-2665.                                                                                                        

New Books at the Library                           

Come check out the new books that we have for you at the Decatur County – Gilbert H. Gragg Library! The Mars Room by Rachel Kushner, Mr. Flood’s Last Resort  by Jess Kidd, and The Cactus by Sarah Haywood are just a few of the books that have just arrived. Get these and more at the library today.

Drawing Class 

Come to the library on Thursday, May 10 at 4 pm for our new Drawing Class! Join us for drawing tips and activities. Materials are provided, and participants of all ages are welcome. The Drawing Class will be held the secondTuesday of each month in the spring.

Food for Fines 

The library will accept nonperishable food donations to pay for overdue fines. Each donated can pays for $1 in fines. This offer is valid only for the month of May and does not apply to fines for lost or damaged items. Damaged, expired, or glass items can’t be accepted for safety reasons. All items will be donated to a local food bank.
