WEATHER: Snow? Really?!

According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, the chance of snow in southwest Georgia can’t be ruled out for the next few days.  The greatest chance of wintry precipitation, however, is in the south central and southeast portions of Georgia.  Here is the official release:

•Potential hazards: Chance of snow, sleet, and/or freezing rain.
•Potential impacts: Hazardous travel due to slick roads, especially bridges/overpasses. If freezing rain develops, some power outages are possible.

  • What: Periods of light snow, rain mixed with snow and/or freezing rain. Snow accumulations less than 1 inch, mainly on grassy surfaces. Freezing rain accumulations, if any, less than one-quarter of an inch.
  • Where: South Central Georgia and Eastern Florida Big Bend.
  • When: 1 AM to 10 AM EST Wednesday.
