Fatal Accident in Bainbridge Sunday Night/Monday Morning

On 10/01/2017 at about 11:50 PM a Red, 2010 Volkswagen Jetta was traveling North on Miller Avenue, in Decatur County.  The vehicle traveled off the roadway and onto the East shoulder of Miller Avenue.  The driver attempted to re-enter the roadway, but overcorrected his steering.  As a result, the vehicle began to rotate causing the driver to lose control.  The vehicle then left the roadway completely, striking a tree.   All three occupants of the vehicle succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash and were pronounced on scene.  The driver was listed as Shawn Green (31), from Bainbridge, GA. The passengers were: Calvin Henderson (33) from Tallahassee, FL. and Malik Chrispen (29), from Bainbridge GA.

Note:  The location on Miller Ave is in between Roy Street and Lake Drive.

Correction: Malik Crispin, identified in the press release as 29, was 19 years old.

According to Bainbridge Public Safety, three occupants of a vehicle were killed in a single car accident around midnight Sunday night/Monday morning.

City of Bainbridge Public Information Officer Julie Harris stated, “We can confirm that there was a single car accident at midnight on North Miller Avenue.  The car left the road at a high rate of speed and hit pine trees.  The three occupants died on impact and were not wearing seatbelts.  We are waiting on the accident report from the Georgia State Patrol.”

North Miller Avenue runs north and south between Dothan Road and Lake Drive/Pond Town Road in West Bainbridge.
