The Southwest Georgia area got some welcome precipitation Thursday as rain pelted the corner of the state most of the morning. According to the National Weather Service, here are a few rainfall totals as recorded at local airports:
- Albany: 1.24″
- Marianna: 1.45″
- Valdosta: 1″
- Tallahassee: 2.92″
- Dothan: .82″
While the rain amounts weren’t exactly monumental, the moisture was welcomed by residents, most of whom have been living in “severe drought” conditions for several months.
Unfortunately for emergency personnel fighting the Okefenokee Wildfire, rainfall totals in southeast Georgia were minuscule.
