Massive Tree Falls in Bainbridge (Photos)

A massive tree fell on Evans Street in Bainbridge during the first bands of Tropical Storm Colin Monday.  The large Oak tree fell sometime Monday morning causing minor damage to a neighbor’s house and destroying a fence between the properties.

According to Kenny Hill, of Hill’s Tree Service, “This is a huge Oak that would have crushed the home if it had fallen in the wrong direction.  We hope to have the remainder of the tree removed by late Tuesday”.

The tree is estimated to be between 150-200 years old.  The power line to the residence was knocked down and the home will require electrical work before power can be restored to the home.  Portions of the tree that landed on Evans Street were removed by the City of Bainbridge.
