On Monday, February 29, Action GM held their “Day It Forward” event and it was a resounding success.  Throughout the day, folks from around southwest Georgia were encouraged to donate canned goods or make a donation to the Bloodmobile on site.  What followed was a record setting day of generosity.

According to the officials from the Life South Bloodmobile, the record for blood donations in a single day event was 35 pints.  During Action GM’s Day It Forward Event, residents of southwest Georgia donated more than 37 pints of blood.  These donations will be used in Alabama, Georgia and Florida tri-state area hospitals.  You can visit the Life South website here.

Another large part of the Day It Forward Event  was the canned food drive that raised donations for local food banks and soup kitchens.  With a goal of filling the bed of a Chevrolet Silverado with canned goods, the Day It Forward Event at Action GM was aiming high.  Once again, however, the people of southwest Georgia stepped up and blew it away.
