Southwest Georgia to see up to FIVE inches of rain today and tomorrow

The National Weather Service is predicting that southwest Georgia could see as much as five inches of rain today and tomorrow.  This storm system has already caused significant flash flooding issues in the metro Atlanta area and severe tornado damage in north Alabama.  Once the rain moves out, southwest Georgia can expect a cooldown for the weekend, with high temperatures in the mid 50’s.

Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. High near 73. South wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Showers and thunderstorms before 7pm, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm between 7pm and 1am, then showers after 1am. Low around 51. South wind 10 to 15 mph becoming north after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Showers, mainly before 1pm. Steady temperature around 54. North wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
