Meigs business owner robbed at gunpoint, beaten

THOMASVILLE — An owner of a Meigs store was transported to Archbold Memorial Hospital late Wednesday night after being robbed at gunpoint and beaten.

The 44-year-old victim, co-owner of a store at 3051 E. Marshall St., left the store to go to her residence across the street. Later, about 11:15 p.m., she went outside to her vehicle.

The woman saw a man standing her yard. “He grabbed her, pointed a gun at her and demanded money,” said Capt. Steven Jones, Thomas County Sheriff’s Office public information officer.
