Tornado confirmed in Calhoun County; warm weather continues

Bainbridge received just 0.23 inches of rain on Monday afternoon, most of it coming between 4-5 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Service. There was a citizen report of a tornado touchdown near Cooktown Road in Miller County at around 1:30 p.m. However, the Georgia State Patrol office in Colquitt said it did not receive any reports of a tornado.

A rotten and water-logged tree fell along Lovers Lane Road in Lee County around 6 p.m., according to WALB. The branches fell into the road and hit the windshield of one car another car hit the limbs. They did not sustain serious damage and no one was hurt. A fallen tree along Radium Springs Road tonight knocked out electricity to more than 1600 Georgia Power customers in south Dougherty County. The power was later restored.
