Bainbridge Bearcats improve to 5-0 record; rise a spot on AJC Top 10 ranking

After defeating Americus-Sumter 38-0 on Friday night, the Bainbridge Bearcats are ranked 5th on the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s Top 10 poll for Georgia Class AAAA football teams.

Going into last week’s game, Bainbridge was #8 on the Georgia High School Sportswriters’ Top 10 poll. The sportswriters’ poll usually gets updated on Thursdays.

Some highlights: Dameon Pierce carried the ball 13 times for 153 yards and two touchdowns, including one touchdown run of 85 yards. Pierce also caught two passes for 40 yards. Dalvin Spivie carried had a 26-yard rushing touchdown, and Tyler Storey caught four passes for 82 yards and two touchdowns.

The Bainbridge Bearcats’ defense held Americus-Sumter to 0 points and only 187 yards of total offense. Bearcat kicker Blake Green made 5 of 5 extra point attempts and made one field goal. Scroll below for more statistics.
