Thursday, Oct. 1 – “First Thursday” event in Blakely, GA – The Blakely-Early County Chamber of Commerce’s monthly “First Thursday” event is Thursday night in Blakely. There will be arts & crafts, a trunk show, and baked good vendors on the square. Many businesses will be staying open after-hours.

‘Jungle Book’ to be performed in Cairo

The jungle is coming to a Cairo park this weekend. Rudyard Kipling’s “The Jungle Book,” that is. Cairo’s Syrup City Players presents its newest in the series Theater in the Park on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 2-3, at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are available at Center Drugs, Pickle Patch and Miss Myrt’s in Cairo. Adult tickets are $12 and students are $8 in advance. All tickets purchased at the door are $12. Lawn chairs and/or blankets are encouraged as there is no seating at Davis Park.

Student actors at Early County High School to perform one-act play for community

The cast and crew of the ECHS One Act Play invite everyone to attend a night of theatre Thursday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. at Mangham Auditorium to enjoy a performance of the comedy, “The Beggar and the King,” and musical selections from the Band of Blue and the choral department.

Admission is $5 and will offset the cost of equipment and costumes for this year’s production.
