Thomas County Central softball beats Cook, 2-0

Thomas County Central’s offense didn’t make it easy on pitcher Larran Carter, providing two runs off of Cook County pitching on Tuesday, but TCC’s starter was still able to get the job done. Carter threw seven innings on the way to a win in eight innings.

The Lady Yellow Jackets held Cook without a run while Carter was in the circle. She pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on three hits while ringing up five.

Walker took the loss for Cook. She lasted just seven innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed two runs.

The lead stayed with TCC after the fourth, when it scored one run on an error.

Thomas County Central’s varsity softball team will be back in action on Sept. 22, at Crisp County.
