Around Our Area: Man gets life in Seminole Co. killings

A Waycross man is headed to prison for the rest of his life after being convicted of killing two people in Seminole County.

DanTony Swinson received the sentence Wednesday evening after a jury found him guilty of shooting 49-year-old Eliace Smith and 64-year-old Heber Bennett, in July of 2013.

Prosecutors say the two victims had just to moved to Seminole County from Ware County, and had stolen drugs and money from Swinson.

Swinson’s son Jamari is also charged with two counts of murder, and is waiting for his case to go to trial.
