From WALB:

Dougherty County School Board members gave final approval tonight to a much stricter attendance policy.

Kindergarten through 8th graders who have more than 5 unexcused absences won’t pass.

That’s up from the previous limit of 14-days.

High school students won’t get credit for a course if they miss more than 3-hours in a semester or 5 in a year.

Students who accumulate 10 unexcused absences will lose their drivers’ licenses or their right to receive a license.
