Get excited for Southwest Georgia’s largest fireworks display, happening this Saturday night at the Earle May Boat Basin in Bainbridge, GA!

It’s part of the 4th of July celebrations in Bainbridge, “The Most Patriotic Community in the World!”

11112295_473296439504798_4742038264210633901_nThere will be good-time music from live bands, food vendors, family fun and at dark, an amazing display of colorful fireworks over the Boat Basin. Celebrate the freedom of living in the United States with your family, neighbors and friends at this FREE event!

New this year is a 60-feet-tall Ferris Wheel, as well as inflatables for the kids! The ferris wheel and kids’ inflatables will begin operating at 1 p.m. on Saturday, at the Boat Basin.

Dancers from Lucretia’s School of Dance in Bainbridge will go on the Performing Arts stage from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Ryn Crider, a singer/songwriter from Blakely, Ga., who tours across the tri-state region, will open the free concert at 7 p.m., accompanied by Cody Enfinger, who has played guitar in popular SW Georgia bands like Midnight Matinee and Sowega Train Wreck.

The headlining band will be Band X, a party band from Atlanta, Ga., who play a mix of favorite songs from the 80s, 90s and today. Band X tours year-round and is frequently asked to back up legendary classic rock musicians in concert.

Then at dark (approximately 9:15 p.m.), be wowed by the spectacular fireworks display that we promise you is the largest display in Southwest Georgia!

Come join the fun at the City of Bainbridge’s July 4th celebration, all afternoon and evening this Saturday at the Earle May Boat Basin in Bainbridge!

(For our out of town guests, the Earle May Boat Basin is located on West Shotwell Street / U.S. 84, just down the street from the Dairy Queen in Bainbridge. If you want to use a GPS map for directions, enter in ‘Boat Basin Circle’ as the address.)

Parking is free; there will be plenty of spots by the boat ramps in the Boat Basin, or you can park in the grass along Shotwell Street or by Cheney Griffin Park.

Band X just got back from a show in Las Vegas for 5,000 people backing up an all-star band lineup of Rick Springfield, Paul Rogers from Bad Company, Jack Blades from Night Ranger, Jeff Carlisi from .38 Special, and Wally Palmar from the Romantics.

David Cole- Bandleader/Vocals/Percussion: Toured, recorded and played with many national acts including Paul Davis, Sly Stone, Ringo Starr, Robin Zander (Cheap Trick), and Chuck Leavell from the Rolling Stones. Played on #1 1980’s “one hit wonder”  “Pac Man Fever” and album of the same name. Band X bandleader since Band X formation in 1996.
Steve McRay-Keyboards/Vocals: Toured, performed and recorded with .38 Special, Ted Nugent, Joan Baez and Francine Reed to name a few. Numerous recordings on various labels.
Deji Coker- Sax/Vocals: Worked with Gloria Gaynor and member of the House Band for The Dana Carvey Show.
Cindy Shelton: Vocals- from Nashville- performer at The Grand Ole Opry and singer with Alabama, LeeAnn Womack, Willie Nelson and others.
