Recent Decatur County Sheriff’s Office Incident Reports

The following is a sampling of recent incidents reported by the Decatur County (GA) Sheriff’s Office. We do not list domestic incidents, out of respect for the victim’s safety, and we also redact citizens’ names and specific addresses, out of respect for their privacy.

  • On Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 1522 hours, Deputy Kelly and Sgt. Williams responded to the area of Faceville Hwy, in reference to a woman reporting that her husband was attempting to run her off the roadway.
  • On Thursday, April 16, 2015, Deputy Vincent Edmond and Deputy Justin Kelly were on routine patrol in Decatur County.  Deputy Edmond was behind a gray Kia sedan. The Kia sedan had dark tinted windows and Deputy Edmond could not see if the driver was wearing a seatbelt. Deputy Edmond followed and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle on Vada Road near Central Drive.  Deputy Edmond issued John Stout a citation for DUI/Less Safe (#013710) and a written warning for his vehicle’s window tint.
  • On Thursday, April 16, 2015, Deputy Daryl Long spoke to a citizen by phone regarding stolen Hydrocodone medication.
  • On 04/15/2015 at approximately 1314 hours Deputy Peak and Lt. Walton were dispatched to Anderson St. Attapulgus, GA, in reference to Criminal Damage to a motor vehicle
  • On Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at 1420 hours, Deputy Adam Mobley was patrolling Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, when he heard radio traffic between Bainbridge Public Safety and E-911. Bainbridge Public Safety was attempting to serve a felony warrant on Jarvis McCray when the subject fled on foot into the woods nearby. Dep. Mobley gave chase on foot and was able to apprehend McCray and turn him over to the Bainbridge Public Safety Officers.
  • On Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at 1609 hours, Deputy Adam Mobley responded to Robert Stephens Road, in reference to a stolen handgun.
  • On Wednesday, April 15, 2015, Deputy Vincent Edmond spotted Charles Gadson walking down Paulette Street near Albany Road and stopped and made contact with him. Deputy Edmond had in his possession an outstanding Battery Warrant for Gadson.  Gadson was arrested and transported to the Decatur County Jail without incident.
  • On Monday, April 13, 2015, at 1102 hours, Deputy Adam Mobley responded to Crawford Road, in reference to a stolen laptop computer.
  • On April 13, 2015, at 1801 hours, Deputy Sam Hughes responded to Thomas Avenue, in reference to a reported theft.
  • On Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at 1930 hours, Capt. Justin Bedwell spoke with a citizen. The citizen stated sometime over the previous night, unknown subjects broke into her car.
  • On Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at 2010 hours, Captain Justin Bedwell and Deputy Matt Reynolds responded to Bainbridge Memorial Hospital, in reference to a child molestation complaint.
  • On Monday, April 13, 2015 at 1342 hours, I, Sgt. Tim Williamson was dispatched to the BP station in Attapulgus, in reference to a report of Reckless Driving.
  • On Friday April 10, 2015, during the morning hours Lieutenant Brian Donalson was located at the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office. Lt. Donalson was notified about a pending warrant on Johnny Allan Bozeman, for a Failure to Appear from the state of Alabama. The Failure to Appear was based on two Sexual Battery charges which were felonies. Bozeman was taken into custody at this time by Lt. Donalson and walked back to the Decatur County Jail.
