Dothan falls 7-1 at the hands of Bainbridge Bearcats Varsity

The Bainbridge Bearcats Varsity baseball team beat Dothan on Monday 7-1 at Dothan High Field in seven innings.

Bainbridge Bearcats Varsity scored three runs in the fourth on an RBI single by Anderson Bailey, a groundout by Stanton Long, and an RBI double by Carson Inlow.

Hayden Godwin was solid at the plate for Bainbridge Bearcats Varsity. Godwin went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fourth and seventh innings.

Cayden McQuaig shut down Dothan while he was on the rubber. McQuaig gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out five during his four innings of work.

Woodham couldn’t get it done on the hill for Dothan, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in six innings, walked none and struck out one.

After scoring one in the first, the Bainbridge Bearcats increased their lead with two runs in the second. Godwin’s double got things going, scoring Seth Hall. That was followed up by Bailey’s single, plating Godwin.

Bainbridge Bearcats JV jumps on Dothan early and coasts to 8-1 win

The Bainbridge Bearcats JV baseball team jumped out to an early lead on Dothan and captured an 8-1 victory on Monday.

With six runs in the first three innings, the Bearcats left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A two-run error and a groundout by Wright Cook in the second inning supplied the early offense for Bainbridge.

Griffin Long went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for Bainbridge Bearcats JV. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the fifth inning.

BHS’ Lawson Lane handled Dothan’s lineup with ease, racking up four strikeouts. Lane  gave up just four hits over four shutout innings.

Bainbridge increased its lead with three runs in the third. A double by Long ignited the offense, scoring Dustin Hodge and Clark Wiggins.

The Bearcats  added two more runs in the top of the fourth. The inning looked promising, as Wiggins singled, plating Lane to kick things off.
