Miller County High School’s ace pitcher, Cole Vann, allowed just one run on Saturday, but the Pirates couldn’t get the offense going in a 1-0 defeat to Brookstone.

Vann baffled Brookstone, striking out seven batters. Vann allowed no earned runs, six hits and one walk over 6 1/3 innings.

Brookstone scored its only run of the game on an RBI single in the seventh inning.

Thomas County Central 8, Crisp County 3

Tuesday, March 10
Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets Varsity pulled out the win thanks to a strong seventh inning. Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets Varsity scored on a two-run double by Stone Stephenson off Witt Campbell, scoring Colby Melton and Doug Smith.

Smith racked up two RBIs on two hits for the TCC Yellow Jackets. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Johnathan Robinson’s seven strikeouts helped Thomas County Central to the victory. Robinson allowed two earned runs on five hits and one walk over six innings.

The top of the first saw Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets Varsity take an early lead, 1-0. A double by Smith, bringing home Melton started the inning off.

Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets Varsity went up for good in the seventh. scoring five total runs, which came home on an RBI single by Eli Taylor.
