Bainbridge varsity tops Crisp County 7-5 in back-and-forth contest

After five lead changes in last Friday’s baseball game between Bainbridge and Crisp County,the varsity Bearcats finally pulled out a 7-5 win.

Bainbridge finally managed to grab the lead after a strong fourth inning. Hayden Godwin scored on an RBI single by Stan Long.

Carson Inlow was solid at the plate for theBearcats. Inlow went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the third and seventh innings.

Tyler Braswell was the winning pitcher for Bainbridge. He allowed four runs over 5 1/3 innings. Braswell struck out seven, walked three and gave up five hits.

Campbell took the loss for Crisp County. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out six, and allowed four runs.

The bottom of the first saw Crisp County take an early lead, 1-0.

Crisp County tied the game in the third on a passed ball that scored Hough.

Bainbridge brought home one run in the sixth inning, and matched that run total in the seventh. In the sixth, the Bearcats scored on a solo home run by Seth Hall.

An RBI single by L Carter in the bottom of the seventh pulled Crisp County to within two runs. Finally, BHS’ Long got Burnett to strike out to end the game.

Bainbridge’s varsity hosts Westover at the Bearcat Diamonds on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. On Friday, the Bearcats will travel to Thomasville to play Thomas County Central.
