Grace Christian girls basketball team playing in GISA state tournament

The Grace Christian Academy Lady Cougars will be playing in the GISA AA Final Four this week. They will face the Lady Generals of Georgia Christian School of Valdosta on Thursday, 2:30 p.m. at Mercer University in Macon.

The winner of the Thursday game between Grace Christian and Georgia Christian will take on the winner of Monsignor Donovan Catholic High School of Athens and Citizens Christian Academy of Douglas on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Mercer for the state championship.

In the first round of the state tournament, the Lady Cougars defeated Memorial Day School of Savannah 38-36. In the second round (Elite 8), they defeated LaGrange Academy 60-38. Both games were played at LaGrange Academy.

One individual highlight of the GCA girls’ season came when Perra Harrell scored her 1,000th career point. Click here for more pictures of the GCA basketball teams in action.

GCA boys basketball team also has strong season

The Grace Christian Academy boys basketball team also had a successful season. The GCA boys defeated Crisp Academy 60-56 in the GISA Region 3-AA semifinals on Feb. 19th and advanced to the Region finals on Feb. 20th to play against Georgia Christian Academy. In the finals, GCA lost 56-26 to the Generals and finished 2nd Place in the region.

One individual highlight of the GCA boys’ season came when Jack McRae scored his 1,500th career point in November 2014.
