Sunbelt Ag Expo is Oct. 14-16 in Moultrie, Ga.

agexpo_logoThe Sunbelt Ag Expo is open Tuesday through Thursday, October 14-15-16 at 8:30 AM with admission $10 per person per day. The show site is four miles southeast of Moultrie, GA on Hwy 133.

Each year the Sunbelt Ag Expo has a spotlight state; this year it is Georgia with the theme,
“Georgia Agriculture, Always in Season” which highlights the State’s diversity in agriculture.

Its 3-days of fun, education and dreaming about agriculture’s future as we team together to feed, clothe and house a growing population around the world.”

The 37th Annual Sunbelt Agricultural Exposition explodes with 3 days of non-stop action unveiling new technology in agriculture and rural living. Over 1,200 exhibitors will display and demonstrate products and welcome thousands of visitors to the 100 acre show site.

Crowned as North America’s Premier Farm Show® and the largest Farm Show in America with field demonstrations, the Sunbelt Ag Expo brings together all segments of rural living from research and education to the live farm harvest and agribusiness. Add in rural lifestyle fun, truck, tractor, and ATV test drives and sports and the venue is perfect for rural enthusiasts.

A highlight of the 3-day show will be the announcement of the Swisher Sweet/Sunbelt Expo Southeastern Farmer of the Year Award as 10 state winners vie for the prestigious title. The winner will be named during the Annual Willie Withers Expo luncheon when agricultural leaders across the South convene to honor the winners.

A crowd-pleaser is the 600 acre research farm’s field demonstrations as farmers watch tractors, combines, peanut pickers, cotton pickers, hay equipment and Global Positioning Systems working side by side. Over 300 seminars are taught at exhibits on beef, dairy, backyard gardening, poultry, forestry, pond management, equine, dairy and cattle management.

There’s never a dull moment during the 3-day show rolling out the daily Antique Tractor Parade, the American Grand Finals Stock Dog Trials, Equine demonstrations, and even a Milking Contest between State Agriculture Commissioners. Stars appear at many locations this year including Andy Schneider, known as the Chicken Whisperer plus the Peterson Brothers singing group.

GA_CottonLogo_287_Blue_websmallThe Georgia Cotton Commission is an annual participant at the Sunbelt Ag Expo. Funded wholly through a producer assessment, the Georgia Cotton Commission is responsible for research, promotion, and education of cotton in Georgia. On display at the Georgia Cotton Commission booth in section WA-8 will the history of cotton in Georgia, current cotton production economics, as well as teaching and education materials related to cotton. Visit the Georgia Peanut Commission building during the 37th Annual Sunbelt Agricultural Exposition, Oct. 14-16, 2014. Inside the peanut building, visitors can sample country fried peanuts, boiled peanuts, grilled PB&J’s and Jif peanut butter. Visitors will also be able to see the Planter’s NutMobile and David Ragan’s race car.
