On Tuesday morning, Decatur County Commissioners rescinded the contract renewals they had given to County Administrator Gary Breedlove and County Attorney Brown Moseley at their June 24 meeting.

The original contract renewals were for a period of 18 months and the county attorney’s contained a $50,000 early severance payout. Due to criticism in local media, Moseley sent a memo to commissioners suggesting they revise his contract to expire June 30, 2015 and omit the early severance payout.

Commissioners also agreed to Commission Chairman Frank Loeffler’s suggestion to have Breedlove’s contract expire in 12 months, to allow the three new commissioners taking office in January 2015 a chance to give input on both contracts.
