On Friday, July 4, the City of Bainbridge will host Southwest Georgia’s largest fireworks show, as well as a free concert by country superstars Little Texas (“Kick A Little”, “God Blessed Texas”, “My Love” and “What Might Have Been”). The Fourth of July celebration will be held at the Earle May Boat Basin off W. Shotwell Street in Bainbridge and multiple food and drink vendors will be on site.

Local band Caliber will take the stage to open the concert at 6:30 p.m., followed by headliners Little Texas. Approximately 30 minutes after dark, the fantastic fireworks will launch over the Earle May Boat Basin!

Donalsonville and Seminole County will celebrate the Fourth of July a day early, on Thursday, July 3, with a fireworks show at Seminole State Park, located off Georgia 253 South in Seminole County. There will be concessions; a $5 per car parking fee is required to enter the state park.

Colquitt and Miller County will also celebrate Independence Day on Thursday night at Spring Creek Park, located off U.S. Highway 27 / Georgia Highway 91. The fun begins at 7 p.m. Thursday! There will be food vendors selling hamburgers, hot dogs, candy and snow cones, while kids can have fun playing on inflatable bounce houses. Jerry Arhelger, a veteran singer/songwriter who has recorded in Nashville, will perform his blend of Southern gospel and country music.

Camilla and Mitchell County will celebrate the Fourth of July on Friday night behind the Mitchell County High School, 1000 Newton Road / Georgia Highway 37 in Camilla. Food and fun begin at 6:30 p.m., and the fireworks show is scheduled for 9:30 p.m.

Don’t forget to pick up your Swamp Gator (effective against mosquitoes and gnats) from Stone’s Hardware Store in Bainbridge or Moore’s Ace Hardware in Colquitt!
