Three people were injured in a crash on the afternoon of Thursday June 19 in Bainbridge.
The accident happened at approximately 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Shotwell Street and Wheat Avenue in Bainbridge. A sedan traveling on Wheat Avenue ran a red light and struck the passenger side of a van, Bainbridge Public Safety Director Eric Miller said.
The three people injured in the crash were taken to Memorial Hospital by ambulance, Miller said.
The van was pushed into a pedestrian crosswalk light, damaging the traffic light system at the intersection. BPS officers are on the scene directing traffic and the Georgia Department of Transportation has been called to come repair the traffic light system.
