WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) today urged Georgia primary voters to support Karen Handel for U.S. Senate. Ahead of tomorrow’s primary, the national pro-life group contacted more than 300,000 voters by email and by phone with an automated message from SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. The SBA List Candidate Fund previously endorsed Handel in March.

“We urge Peach state voters to support Karen on Tuesday. She is an articulate, accomplished leader with a proven record of fighting for the unborn and women. Karen is the best candidate in Georgia to take on Michelle Nunn and the deceptive ‘war on women’ narrative spun by her abortion lobby allies,” said Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Karen fearlessly exposed America’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, as a bully. This GOTV campaign is about flexing the muscle of the pro-life movement to support leaders, like Karen, who have put themselves on the line for life.”

Karen Handel was elected Secretary of State in 2006. Prior to serving elected office, Handel was Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Sonny Perdue. She is the former Vice President of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the author of the book Planned Bullyhood: The Truth Behind the Headlines about the Planned Parenthood Funding Battle with Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Handel was serving as Susan G. Komen Foundation’s Senior Vice President of Public Policy when the organization decided, and then later reversed its decision to end grants to Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood is America’s largest abortion provider and does not provide mammograms.

The Susan B. Anthony List and its affiliated Political Action Committees, the SBA List Candidate Fund and Women Speak Out PAC, are dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, the SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women at all levels of government.  The SBA List is a network of more than 365,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
