Part of Bainbridge without power Thursday morning

UPDATE: 11:15 a.m. – Power has been restored and all four of our radio stations are now back online.

A portion of Bainbridge is currently without power after a transformer blew shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday. Unfortunately, the power loss has also knocked our radio stations offline. Please bear with us as Georgia Power works to restore power. We will keep you updated here on sowegalive.com

From the City of Bainbridge:

A transformer has blown and knocked out power to the traffic light at Scott St. and Shotwell St. Please be cautious as you are driving in the area. Bainbridge Public Safety is also currently without power. If there is an emergency, please call 911. Georgia Power crews are on scene and working to replace the transformer. Power is expected to be restored within the next couple of hours.
